Regardless of the church that you\u2019re are visiting or touring, you are bound to see many crosses around the church. Most likely there will be a cross at the top of a steeple on the outside of the church. Inside, crosses are used as part of the architecture and can often be found engraved in the walls or the columns of the church. The paintings and monuments within the church most likely contain crosses as well. The thing that has changed over time and space is the simplicity of the church building itself. Depending on what part of the world you are in, or what time the church was built, you can see churches that are for function only, and really are just rooms for worship. On the other hand you can also find huge churches that were used to make a statement to society that the church was important and magnificent. This represents the differences in the societies that have churches; some of these societies value function, and some value big productions and statements of power.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"7013471","dateCreated":"1226686157","smartDate":"Nov 14, 2008","userCreated":{"username":"Studmags","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Studmags","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/classicalgala.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/7013471"},"dateDigested":1532286174,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Journal III","description":"This document will be useful to my research paper in a couple of ways. First, it will give me an overall view of the Olympics and how it was viewed at the time. It also gives me some feel for what parts of the Olympics were important for the people at that time. If I decide to break up my paper into sections of events, people, and setting, this document will help me with the events. This document shows a clear evolution of the Olympic events over time and I can later compare that to how the people and the setting evolved over time.
\nAnother useful part of this document is that it is linked to the bigger website that Tufts has put together. This site has a large catalogue of primary documents that are all linked to the site. Using this information will be crucial to my paper. As you can see on my wiki page the site also offers many artifacts as well. If I want, I may use one of these as the construction part of my project. I think that this site will be the key resource in my project.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
